Day 1 - Arrive Winnipeg
Arrive at your convenience in Winnipeg. The afternoon is at leisure for you to explore the city of Winnipeg.
Moderate: Overnight in Winnipeg
Day 2 - Fly to Churchill / Polar Bear Viewing
Early morning departure from Winnipeg. You'll have some free time in Churchill before being transferred to the Tundra Buggy® Launch mid afternoon. Board the Tundra Buggy® and begin the trek to the Lodge, meandering along the tundra searching for wildlife as you go. Arrive Tundra Buggy® Lodge for your first overnight stay.
Tundra Buggy® Lodge is a unique 'Lodge on Wheels'. The lodge consists of five large, modular units on huge tires, linked together like a train with a large-scale interior. The five units consist of two sleeping modules (complete with shared bathrooms and shower facilities), a lounge, kitchen and dining unit and a module which houses supplies and the camp's power station. Between each unit and at each end are open-air platforms that provide safe viewing and photographing areas. A safe haven from the bears and an excellent base for wildlife observation, the warm and casual Tundra Buggy® Lodge provides more time for viewing and photographing than any hotel-based trip. Imagine watching the bears day and night, from inside or out. On clear nights at the Lodge, you seem close enough to the stunning northern lights to reach out and touch them! While situated near Gordon Point, a Tundra Buggy® is available for excursions into the same observation areas that our other, hotel guests explore. In the evening, relax and enjoy excellent meals and informal talks, slide shows (traditional and digital), videos, and bear-lore in the lounge. The proximity and viewing of the bears is exceptional, and the accommodations make even the barren tundra comfortable.
Moderate: Overnight Tundra Buggy® Lodge
Day 3 - Polar Bear Viewing
Today is spent touring by Tundra Buggy® to view Polar Bears. What is a Tundra Buggy' Picture in front of you this huge wheeled - I mean huge, like 5 feet high huge, wheeled vehicle. Sitting on top of the wheels is this huge, I mean huge, wide-bodied enclosure. The vehicle includes a propane heater, a toilet facility and, for all intent and purposes, comfortable seats, windows (that open) and a large observation deck. Alas, now you have a Tundra Buggy® that allows you to go out on the tundra, in relative comfort and safety to watch and photograph polar bears.
Moderate: Overnight Tundra Buggy® Lodge
Day 4 - Polar Bear Viewing / Fly to Winnipeg
After breakfast, depart the Lodge, spending the day on the tundra and returning to Launch for your return transfer to Churchill. On the tundra, where the bears are freely roaming, you can get some 'close up' pictures of the Lords of the Artic (better known as a Polar Bear). Spend a short time in Churchill before being transferred to the airport for an evening departure back to Winnipeg.
Moderate: Overnight in Winnipeg
